Tom Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 1000hp V6 Yes please http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1988393.htm
Admin Vista Posted January 4, 2011 Admin Report Posted January 4, 2011 Call me an old sceptic if you must but VW had to invest millions to develop a 1000bhp engine for the Veyron whereas this engine (I quote) This Twin Turbo Street / Strip engine is designed to be driven daily on pump gas and then raced or cruised all weekend without any hassles. Everything inside is built using the highest quality components giving it the utmost in durability and continued power potential for years of driving enjoyment offers the same for just £16500? I'll stick to my pinto a while longer I think
Tom Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 Yeah but the Veyron had to be efficient and follow EU emission regulations
Admin Vista Posted January 4, 2011 Admin Report Posted January 4, 2011 Good point.....................I remain sceptical however. I confess I'd never heard of Kenny wotsisface, googled him and my scepticism of the reliability claims increased further when I read the final sentence in the paragraph below In September, 2010 George Poteet made a serious attempt to break the piston-engined, wheel-driven record for the flying mile and flying kilometer. He drove the Speed Demon built by Ron Main, powered by a 299 cubic inch aluminum 'Hellfire' V8, built by Kenny Duttweiler. Their effort was thwarted by a number of parts failures attributed to the 2500 horsepower generated by the relatively small motor.
KJ 1320 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Rover v8 with two cylinders chopped off!
Tom Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 Yep but it still made 2500 gee gee's - I bet it was fun while it lasted
SLYMAN Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Yeah but the Veyron had to be efficient and follow EU emission regulations The 4 turbos didn't help then!?
Tom Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 I say 'efficient' in the loosest sense mate lol
GJUK Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I say 'efficient' in the loosest sense mate lol I was going to say! It's one step away from being an eco car, I think everyone will agree.
brettp Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 turbo v8s are the way forward just cant afford it yet that would do me in the meantime though
