This morning when getting my five year old daughter ready for school, she tells me that we need to find something that begins with 'A' for the table at school. (They change the theme every week). So I look around her bedroom and spot the model Anglia she's knicked out of my office and likes to play with.

 

'Amelia, here's an Anglia' I tell her.

 

And she got all excited because she loves it and my van. I can see it at school now.

 

Teacher: Amelia, what have you brought?

 

Amelia holds up the Anglia.

 

Teacher: No, Amelia, that's a Car. It begins with C.

 

Amelia: (with her defensive face on). NO IT'S NOT. IT MY DADDYS ANGLIA. I love my daddys Anglia.

They know nothing when it comes to cars. We did the school treasure hunt around the village last year. One of the clues was to do with 'little people', and we couldn't see anything in the area except some wheely bins with MGB on the site. Didn't put that down. Anyhoo the answer was MGB because the clue was going on about Midgets... You know, that popular car, the MGB Midget. I almost stood up and said 'Actually, the MGB and MG Midget are two totally separate cars.'.

My Neice is very advanced for her age, she is only 5 but recognises the difference between Mk1 and 2 Cortina's and Mk1 and 2 Escorts, I take her out for a drive and she points out the different cars just from looking at the grille badge, ie VW, Vauxhall, etc,etc...
