sarkie83 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I've officially got sick of removing rust with a wire brush, and repainting, as it takes forever...then accidentally chipping it, so no more!! normally when you hear about people getting it done, they say it's not that much, but depends on what you get done... I got a quote from a place local to me, who said £70 to blast/powdercoat an anti-roll bar + brackets which seemed kinda steep. but i'm not sure what I should be paying?
dacar Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I got a rocker cover and cam cover powder coated for £35 inc VAT, that was from Carrick Eng, Prestwick, Ayrshire, there on the net but don't know if they would do mail order stuff. Given that the roll bar etc should be about the same.
caprinerd Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 ive just had the swing arm done for a pan american and it cost £35
vibrating_Cake Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 i got quoted for two bumpers doing at aroundabout £60 also. I dont think they wanted the business to be honest! i'd love to get loads of stuff powdercoated too! blasted and coated, fit and forget basically! just do it a bit at a time and a lot of problems have been sorted, especially capri legs and bumpers!
4DOOR-SHERWOOD Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I got my sump, rocker cover, crossmember, antiroll bar, brake servo tower, brake back plates, strut casings, steering arms and airfiler housing for my yellow escort and that was £180 Got same done for the green RS but rear axle casing too and that was £210
jamie956 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I use a company called Aerocoat they are very good and i think cheap, i had two leaf springs and half a dozen small brackets done around twenty pices in all £70, they also do alot more than just straight colours they can two tone, chrome look and crackel finish. http://www.aerocoat.net/index.htm Give um a look
sarkie83 Posted February 28, 2011 Author Report Posted February 28, 2011 thanks for the replies - at least i've got a rough idea of costs now. i've got a few places to try round here, so i'll see how I get on.
