So guys, now that you've had time to digest it, what are your thoughts on the latest issue of Classic Ford (MKII RS2k and Mexico cover cars)?

Anything you'd like to see more of?

Anything you'd like to see done differently?

Anything you'd like to see that we don't do?

I think....

I wish i was PETER LLOYDS SON.

But over all there is some great cars in there this month. I also think someone at c/f likes RS200'S

PS. How did the yellow rs2000 arrive?

Overall it was a very good issue I want sorry NEED the red MK2 MEX 8)

Might be nice if you could squeze a few more ads in though!!:oops:

too much rs200, not a car many of us will ever own and tbh didnt even bother reading all the rs200 stuff probably the same as any other article about them.

i prefer the mag when it doesnt devote half to a particular model in these specials as i like a real varied assortment every month rather than a specific model.

apart from that good read

I know what you're saying about the ads mate. But they do pay for the features, printing, distribution, Charlton's doughnut addiction... If you count the features andeditorial pages though, you'll find we still have more than other magazines as well as the ads - it just looks like there are shit loads of them - very handy if you're shopping though.

Fair enough about the RS200s. We like to keep things fresh and try introducing stuff - otherwise it can get a bit stale - and we don't often have them in the mag so we thought we'd go all out.

The only thing I'd say is that most of us would never be able to afford to own a Lotus tina or rs1800 for example but everyone still enjoys reading about them - suppose it's all down to personal taste. I personally love them (and trust me I'll never be able to afford one!!) and we've had mainly great feed back about them. Glad you liked the rest of the mag though :D

not a bad issue, agree with what the lads say about the rs200 feature, haven't even read it just looked at the pics. Also has the mag been printed on differant paper this issue as seems a lot more flimsy than previous copies, the pages feel really thin and tear as you reading it, which is a bit of a bitch as like to keep my mag collection mint

Yeah, the paper stock's been changed and it's something I've moaned till I'mblue in the face about - all I can say is,bloody bean counters! Also makes the mag feel less thick than it actually is which is annoying.

My suggestion for th collection is to buy 2 copies. One to read, the other for the glass cabinet with the security system around it.

I liked it lads, don't think I want you to change anything really and at the end of the day if the mag was twice as thick because of the adverts if that gives you the financial clout to produce an even better mag then surely that can only be a good thing IMO anyway

Keep it up

TBH I didn't mind reading about the RS200, in that it's a one off article and we won't be subjected to it month after month.

I did like the fact that there are some resto pics in the article with the red MK1 Capri. I think a couple of little pics is an ideal way of showing a before and after stage. It's all very nice to see a finished car, but when you read how it's been transformed from a basket case to a show car, sometimes you wonder was it really that bad in the first case.

I know not everyone takes photo's of their resto, but if they have them, then they should be used

We try and do that with restos when we can mate. The RS200 stuff was a one off - for a good while at least - and I thinkit's great to get different, interesting and cool stuff in the mag to keep you guys entertained! Glad you liked it.

to me it was one of the better issues recently but I do feel like the mag is lacking somethin, it feels more corporate, whereas RF feels like it is more for the people. I think this year will see a race for the best feature cars as there are a few due to be finished worthy of a cover shot in either mag!

It's subscription time soon & I think ill be going RF and just picking out CFs when they have someting special.

Corporate? In what way? And what wouldyou say it was lacking?

I'm not really sure what's lacking, can't put my finger on it, the mag has a softer design than RF and I maybe that reflects on some of the cars, i'd obviously like to see more mk1's, but not concours trailer queens.

Please take this as constructive criticism but you can tell that RF is written by the people for the people and when i'm reading it I feel like i'm back in the 80's wishing I could afford the loud & lowered RS2k or Mex with the big cibies.... Nostalgia, the reason I do now own a loud, low mex with big cibies

I do take it as constructive mate, it's all good. By the people, for the people eh. Right. So you'd say it was more an attitude thing than content?

I think obvously RF have done that on purpose and hats off to them, it works for its audience. Classic Ford has a different attitude. It's produced by the people for a different type of people if you see what I mean. We aim to be more er, inclusive on a larger scale I suppose would be the best term for it and try to appeal and entertain to a very wide audience: age, interests, tastes, attitude etc. This is what I think you're talking about.

Where as RF appeals directly to you as it is aimed directly at the Ford fans who are a part of OSF and a similar target audience (as far as I read it) we aim to entertain and interest you guys plus lots of other types of groups spread across the classic Ford scene.
