Now then chaps and chapesses. I've been browsing on this site for a while now, but have just started posted (having given up on Facefu*k recently cos it's crap).

I've been a Ford nut for over 30 years now and was lucky enough to remember the last of the old skool Fords when they came out (Mk2 Escorts, Capri's etc) before all this plastic fantastic crap flooded the market.

Always wanted a Mk2 Escort and managed to get one in January after selling my nitrous injected yamaha R1 powered kit car. The Escort has got a genuine Ford X-pack on it for a flat front RS2000, it's running a BMW M44 (318is) engine for now, but I have started amassing parts for a Zetec turbo conversion. The brakes are getting fettled at the minute using Mondeo calipers, cossie discs and a Caprisport GTR280 conversion kit. Front suspension next, then 6-pointing my salisbury axle, then the Zetec (aiming for 300bhp+). Aiming to attend a couple of shows this year then a track day or two towards the end of the year. Have to get it done for our annual pilgrimage to The Ring in 2012.

See ya around the site.post-35855-1363790873_thumb.jpg

Cheers guys.

I can't take the credit for the conversion, it was like that when I bought the car, but I'm gonna add my own unique touches to the car over the next few years. It's a little rough around the edges, but as form follows function I'm not over bothered about that cos it's solid enough.

Vista, regarding the power thing, I'd thought about supercharging the M44 engine, because I have a spare engine in the garage that I could build and the gertrag gearbox on the car is unburstable. The reason I decided on a zetec turbo is that the engineering is much easier, but now you've got me thinking again.

It's fairly lively as it is, but you can never have enough useable power :-D

hello and welcome to OSF

I must admit I was never one for cross breed conversions but that does seem to sit very well in there so I would think about getting the best from it:thumbsup:

I picked up a new OSF to add to my little collection and am thinking of an optimistic non ford engine swap but sometimes my eyes are bigger then my stomach, anyway if you comeing to CFS make sure you introduce yourself
