Thought i would post a few pics and specs of my car here, have a resto thread too, as the engine is currently being rebuilt and a few other mods are taking place.....

so anyway, had a mk1 capri since i passed my test a few years ago, i enjoy drag racing, and loved the look of the SA gunstons, so built my own lol

So the spec reads:

mk1 prefacelift 72 capri 1600xl (tax exempt)

Fibreglass wings

arches

bonnet

bootlid

front valance

Lots of lightening, including acrylic windows, and a swiss cheesed interior

single sparco bucket seat (looking for another)

autometer gauges

rover v8:

overbored 20thou

high compression pistons

viper typhoon cam

rhoads lifters

steel timing gears

arp bolts/studs everywhere

sd1 oil pump, non stick relief valve

polished lifter gallery

heads ported by me, valve guides shortened by me

tlr 50 valve springs (1 less coil)

standard intake milled off and fitted with 32/36 dgav carb

K&N filter

manual 4 speed capri gearbox (3 litre)

10.5 inch mcloed clutch

soon to be 300bhp nitrous kit (currently 75) with fred controller

4ha rear axle from reliant scimitar on standard leaf springs and shocks from 1600xl

slap bars

open diff, soon to have v12 jag LSD

front 2.8i struts, 1600 springs with 1 coil removed, rear has 2" lowering blocks

spare wheel well removed

carter 92 GPH fuel pump

various stainless exhausts

raceway draglite wheels, 10x15 and 8x15, part worn 265x50x15 rears, 225x50x15 fronts

it runs and always has (despite the engine being buggered!) 13.6@112

that was with 170bhp ATF (makes 220 at the wheels once the engine has a new cam etc!) and a single direct 75bhp hit of nitrous

thats most of it!

hope you like, feel free to comment!
