Doc Posted January 24, 2007 Author Report Posted January 24, 2007 what happenin with the JPS then ? Capri gary Crashed it into a ditch ! Its repairable but he still wanted the same money for the car as is and i didnt want another project . so im picking up my deposit this weekend and ive booked the X pack capri into capri restorations for the second week in February and ill get it back in March . All the bodges sorted out ,painted assembled , MOTd and ready to go ! Ill be driving the car for the first time in 5 years ... Cant wait If the JPS is fixed and he wants to sell it i still have first refusal .

Fronts are ok and i can get Radial TAs or Cooper Cobras for the back but i may just reduce the size of the inner ring on the back to let me buy decent rubber . It will still give me that evil Offset that will fill the arches . Each ring is only £66 so its no real problem See pics

If i painted it green id paint the centres black , Orange which looks more likely ill paint them gold to match the cadiz gold stripe in the seats

I am planning on putting 15" on but was wondering if 16" would look stupid, I know they would not get the clearance but I am going to slightly adapt the arches to make fit. Do you reckon i should keep to 15". Also if you have got 8.5" rims on the front what size front yres are you thinking of using. Sorry about all the questions but I want to get the car right in the first place. Thanks Peter

My jps fell through and i booked it in to get finished for my birthday Itll be the shit mate Pete: I think wheels over 15 inch just are too much especially on a mk1 Im going to fit 205 x 50 rubber on the front wheels and 265 x 60 on the back or maybe squeeze some 245s over the rims . If theres an Issue ill just rebuild the back wheels. 7 x 15 is the biggest wheel i think you can fit on a mk1 capri with 50 or better still 45 rubber . IMO
