ZetecVan 2.0 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 If I was into the cars my dad had when I was growing up, I'd have a Daf 66 or a Datsun 120Y.

Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 If I was into the cars my dad had when I was growing up, I'd have a Daf 66 or a Datsun 120Y. Oi, nowt wrong with a nice 120y, the 120y Coupe was even nicer. Old Skool Jap BTW, my dad wasn't that much of a bad influence on me either - hence my Angle Box
kms Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I wish my dad brought me up with cars - kinda glad he didn't though cause I'd be driving in a Volvo or a skoda
ribbit Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 i get it from my dad, he had 2 xr2s, a mk1 import from germany that was a write off, he rebuilt it all. it got stolen then found then stolen again w*****s. a mk2 which got stolen and couldnt be arsed finding it. then he settled down with a 205 gti 1.9 pug. so not a bad influence really.
4parajon Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I remember my old man had a white mk 2 'tina gt and a navy blue transit van, always remember him when I see them.
Noodles Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I got the escort for work (not anymore) my familys always been into bikes Iv had 4 at one time. The OSF come from my bro having a bright blue 4 door with van leaf springs on the back so it sat right in the air. He had one for a while he was trying to get a v8 into and his mate had a mk2 which he wrote off by takin off on a hump back bridge and hitting a brand new mk1 corsa
antz Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 i think most of us young osfer's get it from our parents too true! also rallying played a big part for me
DeuceCoupe Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 my dad had some cool cars but now he thinks I should get a new car dont think so

Mr.Sumo Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Fraid can"t give my old man credit for my love of OSF"s......its all down to my Mum and her Anglia , then Corsair 2000e then a succesion of Cortinas .... up til it all went wrong and she bought a Chrysler Alpine....
sutton4ord Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Yea i blame my old dad 4 the car seen passed his test in a 105e and had a number of 100es cortinas best 1 i remember was the fordson van in late 70s with a v6 blown drag engine did it go . Go on haynes senior get some wheelie bars that should help you 2 keep on the tarmac.
Jelly Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 My Dad's always maintained that an Escort is a bit of a poof's car.. He's always been into his Cortinas, with ample legroom and plenty of elbow-out-of-the-window cruising..
oldskool4me Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 i got into osf,s by my brother he brought a mk2 xr2 not oldskool but that was what started it strangely enough and now i just love osf i have truly been bitten by the osf bug
Haynesmanual Posted January 29, 2007 Author Report Posted January 29, 2007 Well i got it home Just! oil leaking out burning on the exhaust, Exhaust blowing and the carbs (solex) are spitting and popping all over the place. . i think i fixed the oil leak, rocker cover was loose. Got it running a bit better but the carbs have been mounted solidly to the manifold So have got to sort that out! It still flys though . Will post pics soon.
