Who on here uses there escort as daily drive ? Discussed this over on fiesta forum quite surprising really , I still have my fiesta on the road ATM but will soon be using the escort as a daily ! I use my mk1 everyday, done over 20'000 miles in 2 years now !!! F*uck modern cars who wants to drive something with no character ? New cars may as well drive for you all this power assisted steering and electric windows b*lllocks ! Rant over

yep every day either the escort or the sierra (although in nice weather i cycle)

I use my mk1 escort estate everyday and whats more it works for its keep too, well i cant use it now as im trying to find a new engine for it as the one in there if knackered

use my mk1 escort 4dr everyday, have had it 3 years now.

Use my MKII 4 door everyday, although the weather here down under helps. I think I have only used my wipers once and that was when I found out the blades were knackered and the left hand spindle was loose so the motor moved but no wiper!!!!!!

Would agree, no air con or power steering gives an interesting ride, and constantly watching the oil pressure and temp gauges can take your eyes off the road, but when you nail it and everything is on song nothing comes close.

Mk1 escort estate is my daily but I keep it as just a daily, not a show car. Inheriting daily car characteristics such as worn bushes that pull slightly to the left when braking, pain to start in the cold, needs a wash but not bothered since it will rain the day after, etc!

I did for a about 10 months in 2006 but couldn't with what I do now as I cover too many miles and in any case, there's no way I'd leave it in an airport long stay car park while I'm away!

Used mine for 18 months everyday and was very fun, especially in the snow! Made a few bus queues jump backwards

i would love to but I dont think what engine I fit in either one they still wont pull a two and a half tonne digger, so make sure they come out at night and weekends lol

I used to, then I decided that I much preferred driving to work in a quiet, comfortable, economical(ish) car with a stereo, decent wipers and a heater (and aircon) that works.

Agree with this mate also there is no comparison on safety of new cars vs old ones .Old cars can be a death trap on modern roads .

i would love to use a escort as a daily but my last mk1 i used a daily for just over a year having a car like that you always seem to worry about the attention it attracts couldnt leave it anywhere for long periods worrying about it being nicked also the fuel it used was astronomical with the twin 40's maybe as i coundnt help but rag it every where an i couldnt bear to see my pride an joy rust away through using it all year round it deteriated quite quickly seeing one winter im not really a great fan of cleaning so my new mk1 is a summer toy an staying a toy

Used my escort as a daily for a little while in 2008..........but then the values, and accordingly the theft risk, went through the roof and I was afraid to leave it anywhere!
