Bristow, Wilson, Reeves and Lowe etc. the days of pints, a thick fog of smoke and bear guts a plenty. it was just the same as the darts players on the tv !!!! sorry Gran.

I thought maybe it had moved to another venue after 25 years at lakeside but after googling it yesterday I found it starts on the 7th (about a week later than previous) Fieldy - I am not far from Lakeside and went there last year for another event (Strictly Come Dancing Live ) and feels like walking into a 70's Working Mens club - the decor has not changed since you first started watching it mate No wonder Bob Potter is stinking rich ... he never spends any of the money on Lakeside, that's for sure!
Col-ashtonmobile Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 BDO is now the 2nd division championship though with wolfie , count hanky , scottie too hottie etc , the real champ was crowned last weekend Adrian Lewis , PDC is where its at now with Lewis ,Taylor, Wade , Anderson , Barney , Jenkins etc , i find the BDO all a bit lame though compared to the atmosphere created by the fans at the PDC , last weekend at the ally pally most dressed in fancy dress creating a great night , plus the ladies leading the players out just my opinion whats everyone else,s thoughts ?

Agree with you Col but the PDC is on Sky only i think ,and i won,t pay money to them greedy bastards .I know of a few sites on the net showing it but forget to look them up .

The PDC & SKY killed propa darts IMO. Just reminds me of an American wrestling production now............"SHIT" Cant blame the players though, they have just gone with the money

Col-ashtonmobile Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Now come on guys i know its just opinions but you cant tell me you used to prefer the darts in those smoke filled halls with boards that looked like they had been up there for years and only televised once a year ?? I agree sky are greedy bast.ards and i refuse to pay for their box office shows as much as i would like to watch things like the boxing , But they have brought sports in this country forward immensly like darts , rugby union ,cricket , low key motorsport , with their coverage , also all football here and abroad showing spanish/german/italian leagues , a freind of mine is diabled and mainly housebound and every saturday night he can choose to watch his footie team on the box with their football first set up, at a decent time not when he,s fallin asleep at getting on for midnight waiting for MOTD. But back to darts the pdc tournaments are fantastic , premier league , grand slam , european cup ,matchplay , and nearly every venue/match is sold out and televised by Sky live.... gotta move with the times guys
