frankthefencer Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 I want some big stripes done on my car when painted. Are these fitted before the car is lacquered? Also can anyone recommend a company that specialises in stripes???
Admin Vista Posted January 13, 2012 Admin Report Posted January 13, 2012 are you taking about painted on stripes or vinyl? Vinyl is done after the lacquer and site sponsor DMB graphics can sort you out with what ever you're looking for vinyl wise. Send a pm to stickerboy on here or via their website http://www.dmb.uk.com/
frankthefencer Posted January 13, 2012 Author Report Posted January 13, 2012 I would prefer paint on but who supplies the outline???
Posse Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 Like scott said m8 give dave a call at dmb colin bailey has just done this on his mexico.
frankthefencer Posted January 13, 2012 Author Report Posted January 13, 2012 Cheers guys. I do want them painted on but obviously I need to get the stencils cut to give to the paintshop for the outlines. I guess DMB does these as well?
tazrocks88 Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 i guess if you ask him he will be able to sort something for you as he is going to do custom decals for my car so should have the means to help you!
BaileyMex Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Like scott said m8 give dave a call at dmb colin bailey has just done this on his mexico. Its a bastard of a job tho, and the kits cost more as it has to be a special vinyl
SebringRS Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Paint the section you want the stripes painting on, the colour you want, then apply the decals and paint the colour of the car over that, then un-peel the stickers Might just have to rub down the lip left a little bit, then lacquer over that Were doing that with a mustang at work for a tight arse customer
frankthefencer Posted January 18, 2012 Author Report Posted January 18, 2012 Thanks for that!!! Simples....... !!! The main thing is I need to have the stripes measured and designed for the car as I want non standard ones.
SebringRS Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 My RS stripes are painted on, well were til i rubbed it all down The guy had masked it up and painted them, work of art, but most of taken him ages But yeah, thats the easier way to do it, use them as a stencil instead of having a stencil made you might be able to rub the lipped edges down with some G3 (if you get any at all) And yeah, as others have said DMB can pretty much do anything custom, just look at Popeyes Mk1
