i have come across a few who have been very helpful, more now when i got 44 of 44 good feedbacks than when I had 0 of 0.

 

I consider to buy ebay shares to get some of the fees back as dividends.

And another thing that really fooks me off is people winning your stuff from all over the worl, even though it is quite clearly stated in the postage box that postage is only available to uk! So now i have to package up the bits, trek to the post office just to get a price, send them an email to tell them, then trek back to the post office again to actually send it! and before anyone says you can get a price online, its always way off, always like £20/30/40 when in reaity the price is closer to £10 at the post office.

 

 

Somehow this pisses me off too. Nearly all uk sellers say they only post within the uk even its something that easily slips inside an envelope and cost like 25p more to send abroad (yes we are able to read what it says on the stamp). If you are a pain and ask they either ignore your question, are grumpy and refuse to post, or ask £10 more than it actually cost

 

 

 

Thats fair enough though, if it is stated that postage is only in uk, then postage is in uk, I always block bidding from anywhere other than uk, but lifted it off for some stupid reason, and even though it was stated in black and white, people still bid

 

The reason for not wanting to post outside uk is that i know roughly what it will cost to post in uk, but i have to make 2 trips to post office to get prices and spend time fooking around all usually for a few measly quid! I do nothing but work and only sell some bits cos i have to, I really have'nt got the time or the patience for all the fooking around, if it was a few hundred pound deal then fair enough who would'nt fook around, but for what 99% under a tenner it just aint worth it! I wish i could never go on swank bay again!

 

The block is now well and truly back on!

I've been doing ebay for years, and I've found it a useful source of income as well as a very useful source for parts (most of the Escy is built from parts bought on ebay US).

 

There are undoubtedly bargains - I've just bought a really nice CBR 600 motorbike for about a third of what it's worth.

 

It can be expensive, both to buy and sell, but as long as you don't have any illusions it seems to work OK. Postage is a lottery, but as long as you either accept what is advertised in the listing or e-mail the seller for postage costs then you can't really complain. If you don't like the postage costs then don't buy the item!

 

Same goes with fees, both ebay & paypal. If you allow for the fees then some items may not be cost-effective to sell.

 

A lot of people get scared posting abroad. We've sent literally all over the globe, and have only had one item go missing. The Post Office website isn't to be trusted though, as items NEVER cost what it says on there.

 

If you don't want to sell abroad then make sure you're not advertising 'worldwide' when you list the items.

 

Like all organisations there are some w*nkers - I got negative feedback from a bloke who said "never sent the item". I would have sent it if the tinker lol had ever paid for it!

 

ebay themselves do sometimes remove items for very strange reasons. I had an 'Action Man' toy removed 'cos I mentioned 'gun' in the listing. I think a lot of their censoring must be computerised and just targets key words.

Gave up on eBay months ago .

Sold a motorbike helmet to the USA , he paid by PayPal ( £168.00 ) , i sent it International Courier ( UPS ) to be signed on delivery.....said he never got the item , PayPal refunded him without telling me .

So i check with UPS , and in the USA , if no one is in to sign for it they dump it there anyway ....Paypal refused to give me my money back even though i had proof of postage etc , so i took them to Small Claims Court...... . Got my money before it even reached Court .

And as for UPS , NO COMMENT
