silverstreak Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 where would we b without the royal mail though
GJUK Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 where would we b without the royal mail though There are other options out there, never rated them tbh. Though my local postman is now spot on having moved, my last one was a apple pie.
PaulMags Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 I've been selling a few things on ebay and sending items recorded del and have to be signed for.you have to pay over the odds but for this hoping you dont get ripped of.but the way around it is if you have a dodgy postman if you dont sign for it it always stays in the system as a lost item even if you put a return address on it it always comes up the same.you can find this out by putting the tracking no in.this has recently happend to me with a sue bell from cheshire.within a couple of days was asking for a refund on her item.obvious to me she's had the item but wants it for fook all.first class waste of time.
oddball Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Stock up now,if the stamps are marked 1st and 2nd class they can be used forever
GJUK Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Are stamps still regarded as legal tender? Could you not plough 10k in to stamps now, then sell them for a *whatever it is% profit in a few weeks time?
Admin Vista Posted March 29, 2012 Admin Report Posted March 29, 2012 Stock up now,if the stamps are marked 1st and 2nd class they can be used forever You'd think that wouldn't you but I sent one that was marked 1st but was old enough to be from when they were a different colour. It was purple, the same colour as 1p stamps are now. The recipient had to pay a handling charge plus excess postage and wasn't very happy with me

This does not surprise me in the least.... Last year (around november) my elderly aunt sent me a birhtday card, as she always does bless her, she lives maybe 4 miles from me tops, i recieved the card a couple of weeks ago, in a bag saying it had been damaged in air freight coming into the UK...WTF no wonder there putting up the price if there taking everything for a little fly around the world first
