i have been told the cable i have running from the battery in the boot is to small can anyone tell we what size and type of cable someone told me to just use cable people use for in car sound systems is this ok.

its running an edge starter on a crossflow

No it isn't. Minimum 16mm2 cable

Still no way. A Starter is a hefty DC motor, an amp is not. As per Jiffers and my earlier reply, minimum 16mm squared cable. Preferably double insulated and make sure it's a good quality flexible multi strand cable.

i used 35mm" cable used on welders, its nice and flexible and can also handle big power and allows for voltage drop if you have to crank the engine for longer if its a sod to start

ill have a look tomorrow but i think my cable is about 16mm.
