to say im happy would be nowhere near!!

been sat in garage for approx 10 yrs

going for full rebuild on it,cant wait!!

Found bit more history on it today guy called Tim Hines raced it in 80's it was yellow then, often racing against Steve green in hi mk1cortina in finals! Mad! then it was raced by Trevor langfield was blue then, raced like this in 90's, then was raced by mike szekely until series ended, (think I spelt names right!)

I am looking at possibly making it road legal, gotta see what's involved first!

Pretty sure Steve Law from the well known "Speed Shack" shop in West Drayton raced in this series as well .I think he still has his mk1 escort that he raced not sure if it was blue or red in colour. He used to be on Rods an Sods site and they had a thread about the rover v8 racing and he posted a few times.

Holy thread revival batman!

Just had this from someone connected with the guy who raced the car originally. Based on this, the car DJStaffy has bought probably isn't what he thought it was.

"The car is still in Ian's garage.

Exactly where we parked it after the 1996 World Finals when it damaged the engine - and that's where it still is now...

It was his first ever car and he will never sell it.."

Lol , we never said it was Ian's (hampstead) car .

I mentioned that later in the thread to Kev on a completely separate question.

puddy :)

Yes, see that now I've re-read the whole thread
