So he says! My dad has had a few Burton engines in for rebuild from people that were not happy with what they got from burtons. They use all the right bits (why wouldnt they when there is a stock room next to the engine shop) but they are literally just bolted together!

Why he would bullshit like that to another engine builder, I do not know! lol

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I was just sitting putting together a shopping basket on burton's when I thought I'd research them a bit and I arrived here.. Not so sure about buying from there now.

Do you guys know of any good online shops that sell aftermarket bits?  I'm in the market for an exhaust and manifold, but the only brand Burton have within my price range is Ashley.. Not so sure about them, I know you get what you pay for with this kind of thing, but I've read about people buying manifolds that don't even fit?   Not much use if it doesn't even fit ffs.

I.ve bought plenty of things of burton but as everyone knows it either fits or it does'nt and the same thing you have a problem and they dont want to no.there no different to rally design as far as i'm conserned.

just total shit they sell had a uprated rst cvh oil pump off them that failed in the running in King the fresh engine at 1400 mile, respone was its not one of our parts its outsorced from china we dont cover the part so we cant refund you.

not just me a local guy to me had a oil pump do on a twin cam lotus aswell from them.

pistons of them melted, gaskets that dont seal total shit

Had an oilpump issue from Burton aswell. By-pass channel wasn't machined so I had atleast  35bar oil pressure. Well 35 bar was the burst pressure of the Ford EFL90 oil filter. It appeared I wasn't the first one with this issue. China product.
Did visit the shop to complain. Got everything covered on their costs.

About Ashley exhausts... lots of noise and in all my "cases"... they never fit without cutting and re-welding.

Exhaust wise for me, CCW tools, good prices, free shipping within the UK http://www.ccw-tools.com/Stainless-Steel-Exhausts/Ford-Stainless-Steel-Exhausts/c-1-1461-1472/

I think I'll save for a bit longer and get someone local to put together a stainless system for me.  I am gonna order a few small bits and bobs from Burton though.. hopefully things will go smoothly.  Thanks chaps.
