To fit a 79 Mk2 Escort van. I've looked at various Minilite 'replicas' on ebay etc, most of which look nice and seem reasonably priced considering they are brand new. Are replica parts going to get me laughed at?

How wide can I go without widening the wheel arches?

If its not an original concours, does it matter as long as you like em

A few people have managed 8s on a saloon so presumably a van would take the same. It's all down to offset

I have 7's on my saloon and wanted 7.5's deep dish 4 spoke on ,i was told by shop offset was wrong and they would stick out and had to either chop axle, get an anglia axle or roll arches.

Still got 7's on at minute.

Can you remember offhand what the offset is?

I want to lower the van by 2" and have the deepest dish possible without flaring the arches. I'd rather not roll them either, prefer to stick to mods that can be undone.

Thanks for your replies

I was wondering a similar thing. I really want these on mine, offset is ET-7. Anyone know if these will go on if i get the arches rolled?

I have 13x7 on ,(175x50x13) they are either ET-6 or ET-7 can't remember which but fit fine.

Car is lowered 2".

The 7.5 ones are ET-19 ,that's the rs 4 spoke ones.I assume millies would be same.

I was told that they would stick out about 10mm so i would have to either roll arches, put bubble arches on , chop the axle or put an Anglia van axle on (don't think Anglia saloon axle works)but i may be wrong.

So as far as i'm aware if you don't want to mess about and want to put some straight on you want ET-6 or ET-7.

Get more advice in case i'm wrong though, would hate for you to spend money then find their not right.

"Einpresstiefe" (ET) doesn't mean anything unless you/we know the wheel width as they go hand in hand!

If those wheels are 7x13 ET7 then they will be fine :)

There will be divided opinion but 7's sit better on un-arched Escorts than 7.5s IMO

I was talking to a guy today who reckoned he knew a guy who could cut and shorten axles and half shafts.. He said it was a decent job and relatively cheap, but hmm. Anyone tried this?

At any rate, I think I'd be very happy with 13x7 ET -7 on the standard axle, as that was what I'd been looking at anyway.

Thanks again for the help fellas, I'm off to spend some money.
