centre console?

i have been really struggling to find one for my escort that's not an RS one on ebay for several hundred pounds

 

 

a few years back i bought a new universal / aftermarket one for something like 40 quid that pretty much did the job but i just cannot find the same or similar product again

 

 

Not a great pic but it shows the top of it so you get the idea

 

 

(i switched that one over into my rickman so i could have a stereo in there thinking i'd just grab another one for the escort easily)

 

 

i need the gearstick gaitor, bit of storage and a space to put my stereo. needs to be quite thin around the gearstick bit so i can raise the front seats to let people in the back

 

 

Anyone got any suggestions? got one laying around?

I have got a centre console with no radio slot but think you could use it with a universal radio mount screwed to the switch panel ?

 

I'll dig it out and post a pic.

 

 

I may have found an estate tank if you need one still ? I've started to clear out all the parts you saw when you came down

Have you tried the boys at escort tec? I bought it from them at Clasic ford a 12 months or so prior to that and didn't pay much more than that. Top tip, buy yourself a brown one (no-one wants them usually) and use vinyl paint on it to paint it black

i have got some pics of the centre console but i cant get them on here its saying files are to big and i dont no what to do.

if you have an email address or phone number pm me and ill send them that way. the console is black with the square clock in it its in fairly good condition theres a small rip in the gearstick gator i have a pic. at the back the metal frame is a little rusty but you cant see it. it still has the clock in it. looking for £40 +postage but i see you live in london im in dagenham and work in london so could meet you.

i also have a head unit surround that came out of my mk escort it fixes to the bottom of the dash i can send pics

Top tip, buy yourself a brown one (no-one wants them usually) and use vinyl paint on it to paint it black

 

The brown dash was only used in late MKII's so most people want the black dash parts as thats the colour that they are most likely to have in their car. It should be easier to find a black one than a brown.

If you say so but that wasn't my experience when I was looking for a brown centre console and glove box, I found a fair choice with no trouble at all and no-one seemed interested in them so I got them quite cheaply.
