over_head_cam Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 Problem: Water leak from the end of the top hose. Solution: Cut the end off and put it back. Problem: Find that the thermostat housing has a hole in it. Solution: change it for the new one that's been sitting indoors for just such an occasion. Problem: It's the wrong fookin one!! It's always the way though lol. Hopefully little bruv (Escamino) can find one in his extensive stores and I'll be ready for the Wingspan tomorrow
emu Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 I know the feeling: All set to go to Castle Combe this morning, except 7 pm last night split bottom hose on the capri. Check extensive stores. No hoses in stock Run to dads, whip hose off escort and try to fit to Capri. Hose is too short because I chopped it down due to the way I fitted the rad in the Escort By 9.30 I start to think laterally....If the hose doesnt reach the radiator, then move the radiator to reach the hose Modify rad mounting with minimal tools and consumables by torch light by 10. End result: Got sunburnt at Castle Combe and enthusiasm reignited for putting the escort back together
over_head_cam Posted September 8, 2012 Author Report Posted September 8, 2012 Nice one Richard, that's how it's done
over_head_cam Posted September 8, 2012 Author Report Posted September 8, 2012 Escamino came up trumps (thanks Chris) and thanks to Graham (gpcmatric) for dropping it down to me and holding the torch too Chuck a bucket of water over the car in the morning and we're ready to go
