monkeymoreton Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 I for one am as its my only car at the mo and they managed with weather like this in the 80s
Admin Vista Posted December 13, 2012 Admin Report Posted December 13, 2012 Went out for a run in mine yesterday, though the weather down here was dry and bright. Can't say I'd be using it in the wet / snow / ice or if there was salt on the roads
stuartp Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 only got OSF's to drive so yes cortina is an absolute pig to start at the moment though (ashton boys coming to my rescue next week) was going to drive the escort this morning but couldn't get the cover off of it as it was frozen on (it ripped a bit when i tried!) it's an unknown state of affairs when the escort is the car i can rely on to start in the morning
monkeymoreton Posted December 13, 2012 Author Report Posted December 13, 2012 I'm goin to put a electric fan on mine it doesn't even get warm at the moment not good when the baby is on the way.
welshmike Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 i use mine everyday, whatever the weather. i always look forward to driving it, even when i know im gonna have to scrape ice off the inside of the screen
monkeymoreton Posted December 13, 2012 Author Report Posted December 13, 2012 thats part of the fun i thought
shaun1.6ghia Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 i use mine everyday, whatever the weather. i always look forward to driving it, even when i know im gonna have to scrape ice off the inside of the screen Couldn't have said it better, been scraping ice from the inside for 3 days now an the lock was frozen 2 days ago an couldn't get in. It's a bit hair raising ATM with ice but soooo much fun
PCOE Posted December 14, 2012 Report Posted December 14, 2012 I've used mine occasionally and it's been quite good fun although a little arse clenching at times!!! Out very early on Saturday morning for its MOT.....
daveaphillips Posted December 14, 2012 Report Posted December 14, 2012 I might pop out for a drive on Saturday too. Do you go somewhere local for the MOT? Dave
mk1estate Posted December 14, 2012 Report Posted December 14, 2012 Not used mine for a while, although its always left out in the weather perhaps i should sell it as its not being used so much now???
oldschoolrules Posted December 15, 2012 Report Posted December 15, 2012 ive only got osfs too, so its a choice between the mk2 cortina estate and the mk1 escort. the cortina has a stereo and a heater so that tends to win at the moment, especially as i take my boy to nursery in it everydat he wont shut the car door until ive taken the front off the stereo. only 18months old and security concious already. when the snow comes ill be out in the mk1, she has a slipper, oh yes.
Credders Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 im hoping for some bright crisp days so i can get out in mine. gotta avoid all that salt though, thats not good for old cars
SebringRS Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 Drive mine everyday to college and work and go for drives with my mates most nights whatever the weather All good til it breaks, then im back on the bus and getting lifts
puddy Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 Using the mk1 tina as my daily at the mo, no difference any way as it lives outside. Hung the back out lovely earlier on coming out of my garages, couldn't have done that in my Vauxhall Agila puddy
