escort21 Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 Failed on the drivers side outrigger...10 working days free retest though
flyingbanana Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Failed on the drivers side outrigger...10 working days free retest though i thought the new system they brought in you only get 24hrs unless the car is left with them for them to fix and after that you have to pay again
Messenjah Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 flyingbanana i thought we went thru this the other day lol straight from the fail sheet ... If this vehicle is left at the testing station for repair and is retested before the end of 10 working days then only a partil retest is requires for which no fee may be charged. if this vehicle is removed from the testing sstation for repair and returned for a retest within 10 working days then only a partial retest is needed and a partial retest fee MAY be charged i wasnt charged a retest fee for mine ...
flyingbanana Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 im going from what i found out when i took my cars to mot....big piece of paper stuck to the wall saying what i said in my last comment....2 different things ive heared now
groomers Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 mot test is confusing as fook it is up to the garage what they charge, so every garage is different, normally in my experiace garages that offer cheap mots will fail a car more often and charge for retest
teamtom Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I work on sat mornings at an MOT station. there are main rules and ground rules but alot of stuff is done to the discression of the station or tester. At our place we do not charge for a retest that is within 10 working days. And the testers are the most honest you'd find anywhere. We do a cheap price on saturdays and standard on weekdays
tim Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 all depends what it fails on,tyres, brake etc have to the next work day but stuff like weldin you got 10 workin days
teamtom Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 any failiure comes with a retest within the next 10 working days. you cant divide things up into major and minor faults. It is all given the same time. Obviously if your tyres are nacked you will get them done on the spot
PAUL MANN Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 YOU CAN HAVE A PRTIAL RETEST IF YOUR VEH FAILS ON LIGHT ABS W/SCREEN AND OTHER ITEMS THET DO NOT REQ MAJOR REPAIR,THAT CAN BE DONE WITHIN 24HRS FREE IF IT OF A MAJOR REPAIR IE BALL JOINTS WELDING, BRAKES AND THE LIKE YOU HAVE TEN WORKING DAYS ,AGAIN ONLY ANOTHER PARTIAL RE-TEST APPLIES,LIKE YOU SAY IT DEPENDS ON THE TEST STATION AS WHAT THEY CHARGE TO GAIN BUSINESS IT MAKES SENSE NOT TO CHARGE FULL UNLESS OUTSIDE 14DAYS SORRY FOR BORING YOU AS I AM AN MOT TESTER .ITS BEST TO CHECK WITH THE TEST STATION SO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU STAND
