Don't know it and can't comment on its authenticity from viewing the pics on my phone. It does look very nice though. Have you been in touch with the AVO club to ask about it?

What sort of car are you after? Standard? Modded? I got the impression from a previous post of yours that you were after a road legal project car?

Nice car but proper money. Look we all know to get a car to that standard takes a lot of money. Personally I think 24k is a bit much however around 20k I think is acceptable as long as its genuine and a real pukka job.

I do have a concern as car not recognised by the avo and when the registration number is put into the dvla or a Hpi checker it states "car not recognised"

I am going to look at another rs2000 on Tuesday night, 10k less but will need work

Two minor things - the VIN plate looks brand new - even if the car is restored why re-new the plate? And the V5 states 2000cc for engine capacity - should be 1993 ! Its a good looking car, no mistake but that is top dollar money and the interior switches and seat frames etc. just don't justify it IMHO!

Loads of people renew the vin plate when doing a restoration so it's very common place and not a shocker . If you are comfortable with the car and you think it's genuine then it's your choice. 20k for a mint rs2000 isn't over the top as long as its correct and been done properly. What you don't want is a 20k disaster .

That drivers door seems to fit fine at the top.And would you want to start making repairs to a car you paid 20+K for? I wouldn't.

If it not known to AVO ask yourself why not. Have you tried to contact the previous owner for any more info?

sidpf1972 is referring to where it's stamped into the strut top and he's correct. That's not an original strut top with the number stamped in without the star at the beginning and end. Doesn't mean it's not a genuine car though

Had a good chat with the seller today, I am not convinced but see what you think:

1. Seller stated it is 2000 capacity on logbook not 1993 as it depends where the car was built (Spain, Germany or England) - is this true??

2. No history what so ever with the car, only recent MOT

3. No pictures of resto

4. Car was a barn find 2 years ago and not been used for 15 years

5. AVO do not know car but can confirm that the reg and VIN plate are from a RS2000

I could be being picky but I am spending a lot of money on a car that can not be 100% confirmed.

Think I might hold out for the right one, just looks so nice though.......
