diaphram in the carb?

maybe the choke is not disengaging and slowly flooding it?

i had mien rejetted and if you leave the choke on for mroe than a few mins it floods the engine and doesnt wanna start again

Other things to look at, points closing as the engine gets warm, Condenser breaking down, Coil Breaking down as it warms up, Try running the car with the petrol filler cap undone, can be a vacuum problem if the breather in the tank is blocked, check the filter on the fuel pump if its a glass top type,

My favorate is the coil breaking down, Its happened twice to me over the years, the car runs for ten mins then stops for twenty mins before starting.

deffo sounds electrical rather than fuel, try changeing the coil and give the dizzy a service, condensor will give you that problem so thats where i'll put my money :?

I had a lot of pinto problems with the cortina at first, take the points out and see if the faces are blue, if they are then the condensor is knackered and is burnoing the points out. I had the same symptoms as you ya see. if you have a spare coil knocking around that you know is good might be worth sticking that on, and then just check the leads for any splits. Good luck mate  (whats the project by the way, another capri?)
