skeeter Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 The Cortina 1600e turned up at my house yesterday and I have to say it looks fantastic. The wife and I went out for a drive around in the early evening and my first impressions are very positive. - the car is actually quite comfortable to drive although the long throw on the gear lever took a little getting used too - the heater works! - lot of wind noise around the drivers side A pillar, will have look at this as it was much quieter on the passenger side - 45mph felt like 90mph! - I love the interior and amazingly for a 45 year old car there are no trim rattles or squeaks - it looks tiny parked next to the M5 - my arms ache this morning, no power steering..... And how many people stared and smiled as I drove by? Almost everyone..... Brilliant. Will get some pics done over the weekend and post up, but currently have a big smile. Oh, and a guy in an old mini waved, I get waved at in the M5 a bit but not like that. S
lotusless Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 The smile factor is 100% that's for sure mate, the only worry for me is the mileage you do on a daily basis but good luck and enjoy making new friends EVERY time you stop in it !
