GJUK Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 How tight are you meant to 'do up' these little chaps? I've just bought some new ones as mine were a little perished and I fell that they could have been letting some air in to the inlet/carb causing some firing issues. I've also bought the correct rubber mounting kit and new m8 nuts. Thanks Jon
SmokeEm Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Probably not as accurate an answer that you are after but I always used to tighten nut until washer stopped being loose and then 2 further turns of the nut. Did me ok but I have no doubt someone would know the correct torque setting? 1
SmokeEm Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Can't see pic for some reason but my old ones perished and cut up quite badly and therefore leaked air I was told to change them and the basics etc before going to the rollers to eliminate silly problems 1
katana Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 They should be 'snugged' up fairly tight but still allow a little bit of movement of the carb body. Their purpose is also isolate the carb from vibrations to a degree also hence not screwing the granny out of them! 1
