My mate works in the RS division at Ford, something to do with Engine mounts and he is going mental about their new engine, reckons the block is the size of an A4 piece of paper.

 

Easily tuneable to 200hp....perhaps an option for OSF's

I guess that's similar to the new engine in the ford focus ?

 

My brother brings one home from the dealership where he works, it really shifts for such a small engine, I drove it and thought it was at least a 1600 !!!

Looked into the detail of the engine and some of the features are simple but brilliant!!! Cam belt in oil to reduce friction, dont know if it has been done before but quite good idea. (I know timing chains go in oil before someone says it!!! )

sounds good aswell! did it not win engine of the year or something? I do find the engine quite interesting, also shows how far we come in engine development 200-220BHP with factory internal just a turbo from its bigger brother 1.6 and a ECU tweek. even out the box as 125BHP its more than a RSTurbo of the 90's and with less effort more powerful than a high tunned RST

Sounds like it's got more guts than the Vauxhall equivalent that powers my daily 1 litre, 3 cylinder Ecoflex S Corsa!
