Fiesta Steve
It's 16 valve, how do I tell if its an evolution ?
Vista
They were built in 1991 and 1992 and to accomodate a wider track, had wider arches than the earlier ones, making them more rounded in the process. They also had additional lateral air slats in the bonnet to aid under bonnet temperatures, these are present on your car so unless it's had a bonnet upgrade (easily done I suppose) I guess it is an Evo (5 bolt wheels are a give a way too). I'm not an expert though. Actually reading up a bit more, I'd say that's an Evo II from 1993 on What has it been brought over for and why is it at your place? stuartp
lush I was reading the other day about a real problem in Dubai with people just leaving their expensive cars and running away from their debts. Ferraris, Porsches, Mercs etc just left on the street or in carparks
mk2 mike
Yep it's an evo2 As said arches, wheels (and bucket seats) give it away. Adjustable rear spoiler too. Awesome car.

Looks like its an Evo2 then.. I have no idea why it's been brought over, I work for a removals and shipping company and we move expensive cars all over the world all the time, but only a few (like this one) really get my attention !! Gooey
Customer at work has begun bringing in Mk2 Escorts from South Africa to restore. Few months back we had a V8 Perana Capri come through as well Exported a lot of the Top Gear live stuff as well when they took the show abroad, some real wacky stuff and a pain in the ass to export LOL
mk2 mike
nice cars but a pain to work on Id heard that too. I knew a guy who had one years back (normal intergrale not an Evo) and he replaced the water pump. He had to strip the whole front of the car down, bumper off lights out dropped the suspension etc. took him an age to do, all for a water pump! Thank god I only have to take a couple of hoses off to get to the pump on my escort! Lol

The Transplanter
Lord Blue (code 438) was only available on Evo 2s IIRC I used to run the whole of FIAT Auto UKs company car fleet back in those day, and was fortunate enough to be able to spank these around streets (and some circuits) Its funny how that colour (very simular to ford midnight) looked crap on FIAT Unos and such lol
