[Rally Pack 2000]

Hallo all at Old School Fords. Im James from Australia and just posting to introduce myself as suggested upon my registration. I currenlty own a 1979 Australian 2lt Rally Pack Escort 4 door (Our Mexico look alike but with 2lt Engines, pictured in Graham Robsons books with a thick bold black stripe with Escort on the end) which I have owned for over 25 years and a 1970 Twin Cam Escort I have owned for over 20 years. I almost trashed the RP as the cost to restore it far outweighed its value but in the end it had so many memories as I travelled extensively with it and couldnt find anything I liked to replace it so decided to teach myself to spraypaint (still learning) and restore the old thing.The original struts are a bit bent with age so just ordered some group 1 replacements from the UK which created other problems as the Australian made struts have integral steering arms but with the RS 5in spring platforms so are a bit of a hybrid compared to the UK ones. I found the forum doing a web search to find out the best spring rates for a road pinto engined Escort and may start a thread on that topic soon. Um not sure what else to say for an introduction but I guess if anyone wants to know more the will ask. Thanks for letting me join.
