Girl Racer Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Has anyone else had trouble with the post office saying there is no MOT when you tax your car, their computer comes up saying there is no MOT! The car has MOT, even checked on Direct Gov and it comes up saying it has???
Girl Racer Posted September 4, 2013 Author Report Posted September 4, 2013 take the certificate with you? I did!! But they are saying on their system it isn't on there!???
Admin Vista Posted September 4, 2013 Admin Report Posted September 4, 2013 As above, try taxing it online, if it works, all well and good. If it doesn't you probably need to go back to the garage that issued the MOT and ask them to look into it
texr2000 Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Have you checked there is no mistakes on the MOT? spose if u checked on Direct Gov then cant be a issue. If its there in black and white surly they wouldn't have a issue, but its all computerized now so their systems probably not allowing them to issue it. sort of thing if you go back a hour or two later probs all be ok
Girl Racer Posted September 4, 2013 Author Report Posted September 4, 2013 Definitely no mistakes, Richard MOT'S them at his garage where he works, he does all of our cars. If there was something wrong it wouldn't show on Direct Gov. As its all computerised now, they log on the system and then print it out when it passes, Richard has got his boss to check it and its all fine on the system? I do take the certificate in with me, Sutton did it in the end, but they did query it, I had trouble where I tried in the post office near my work, they refused! I don't want to tax on line.
SmokeEm Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Very strange Kerime. Why you not want to tax online?
mk2 mike Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 I always tax online. Mainly down to my OCD and the fact that online VELs come with the details printed neatly on them not hand written with a scrawl by the 16 year old behind the post office desk. Much easier than taking all your docs in and queuing while some old dear argues about the price of sending a birthday card to Australia ;0)
Girl Racer Posted September 5, 2013 Author Report Posted September 5, 2013 I don't do taxing on line as I don't have the internet security for bank details etc!
marky4 Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 Always tax all my motors online so much easier and never had any trouble
katana Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 I don't do taxing on line as I don't have the internet security for bank details etc! Its your choice but you don't need internet security and online banking - just a debit or credit card! Soon there won't be any post offices to do it in anyway!
