JP. Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 So I got attention... Where to get Capri mk1 front wings. Prefer steel but seems absolute. So next option is fibre. Which make is best fit and value and where to get ??? You Escort guys should know I guess as for Escorts everything seems to be available.... Its strange nobody makes steel front wings for the Capri mk1 these days as the only thing I can find is fibre ones with no brand mentioned. Just started a full resto on a mk1 facelift 3.0GXL. Wings are bad. Can be sandblasted and welded with a very lot of effort and costs. Wings are aftermarket too, so replacing them will be the better option. Just need to find out which ones ( brand, or shop ) to go for. Thanks in advance, JP
Admin Vista Posted October 20, 2013 Admin Report Posted October 20, 2013 Have you tried expressed panels for steel capri wings? Edit: Just looked at their website and they don't list them so I guess they don't.
capriclive Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 steel wings are very hard and expensive to find. fiberglass ones are available from smith & deakin. i have fitted a few of these on mk1 capris and not a bad fit. as with any pattern panel fit wont be exact but you can get nice fit with good shut lines with a bit of effort.
capriclive Posted October 21, 2013 Report Posted October 21, 2013 do S&D do Mk3 capri wings? yes they do about £93 each. pattern steel ones are available cheaper than that unless you specifically want fibreglass.
FredTransit Posted October 21, 2013 Report Posted October 21, 2013 pattern steel wings cheaper? Thats a surprise! Maybe I didnt look hard enough...
