I am unable to upload pics from my phone using Tapatalk. It states the forum has disabled this feature. Why?

No we haven't. I'm afraid that's tapatalk lies and misinformation. Basically, Tapatalk haven't kept their forum software up to date and it isn't fully compatible with this forum's operating system when used on some types of handsets

Thanks Vista. My app is up to date and I use an iPhone 5. Just found setting for sharing and used attachment rather than Tapatalk. Will it work

It may not seem important right now but direct upload is way way better for picture posting for archive purposes over photobucket. When I joined I made my way back through all the older posts going back years and most of the older photobucket photos were gone there was just a "no longer available" label in its place. Its quite disconcerting to read a post that answers a technical question with photos and they are no longer there and threads praising and highlighting the restoration of their cars and its nothing but text saying how great it looks. I almost started a thread just to bring this matter up. Dont use sites like photobucket, do a direct load instead as it really ruins the archive of threads. Some of them are virtually rendered useless.

Agreed, but back then we didn't have that facility

Exactly.

I had 2 threads, one light enough, but the other was very detailed and the photos eventually vanished.

Still annoyed about that.

Delighted about the direct upload and am sorting my current car photos to update its thread

with the direct upload, where are the pics stored?

will they be there forever or will they too eventually dissapear?

They will be stored on the OSF server that we have to pay for as part of the site's operating costs

I'm not sure how unless you moved them within your photobucket account or photobucket themselves moved them out of your account or possibly your photobucket account exceeded its bandwidth limit.
