I've also emailed Dan this week about a bespoke system. No reply? Maybe he doesn't need my money so am looking elsewhere. Shame really, coz he did a cracking system on my Granny.

Emails are an entirely unreliable way to communicate. If I want to know something I follow an email up with a phone call if it doesn't get answered.

why not just ring?.

I like email as I can email from my desk at work, but it's an open-plan office, so we can't really make personal 'phone calls. But as has been said, a lot of auto companies don't really 'do' email - they have an email on their website, but don't check it or don't prioritise it or something.

the thing i find is with email, until you check or work at a desk you dont see them straight away. when the phone goes at work i go and answer it straight away because i can here it. where as i dont hear a email going off until i go and check on the computer.

Also if you're the one working all day in the workshop there may not be anyone else to retrieve the emails ... if you're working on your own in a garage it's much easier to grab the walkabout phone and take a call than actually go to the office and log in to your emails.

I had a quote to do my Cortina yesterday. £369 which I think is a bit steep to be honest. I like their work but am going to shop around this time as funds are tight.
