it depends on what kind of silencer you put on it :? i dont know if anyone knows if theres a db limit for MOT's ? there must be :?

They have no way of checking it !!! So no theres not.

There may be some sort of legal limit that I don't know about but an MOT man can't check it.

Think the limit for the road is 82db, but as mentioned they have no way of checking it at an MOT so it's at their discretion.

Last year I was told mine was too noisy so took it to a more old skool friendly place and he said as long as it's silenced and doesn't leak he's happy :)

A normal aspirated engine needs back pressure to help clear the exhaust gases, if the length of the exhaust is reduced this will affect engine efficiently and reduce power.

Apart from that you would probably go deaf in a week

i understand all the back pressure stuff it just i cant be arsed to fabricate my exhaust over my axle etc

Exactly I gotta get the exhaust sorted so it can be tuned properly but at some point I will want to lower it for maybe change the axel? I dont know. So I dont want it to keep getting in the way :D

Personally if you are using it on the road then you might fall fowl of the Section 59 Police Reform Act, where if you use your car in an anti-social way then your in the brown poopie stuff, If ppl complain about the noise then the old bill have got ya...

its possible to mod an of the shelf system for a sedan to fit an estate. All you need is to weld in a bend behind the rear axle and turn the back box on its side. If you are less lazy than me you straighten out the end that will point downwards after you have turned it so it looks better
