qwerty Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 6 years for me, but as Vista says its bettter than it never happening at all. Some people are viewing it as a bad thing as they think its the beginning of stricter controls being put on the usage of older vehicles.

mk2 mike Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 It means it's not fixed, say for example they make all cars pre 1974 tax free but 1975 or later cars never will be. On a rolling basis each year cars that fall within the 40 year old category will be eligible. So at the moment all 1974 cars will get free tax, next year 1975 cars get it, then 1976 cars the year after and so on. There is probably an easier way to explain it but I'm tired lol 1
