pnwrs2000 Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Hi, any suggestions for where to get black window and roof gutter trim from to replace the chrome trim on my mk2 escort ? Cheers
Admin Vista Posted April 15, 2014 Admin Report Posted April 15, 2014 Can't help I'm afraid, I didn't even know it came in black
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted April 15, 2014 Moderator Report Posted April 15, 2014 Actually the Black Roof Gutter Trim is available through one of the sponsors of this site MotorsporttoolsUK, however when I last went to order some it was out of stock but when I wrote then they replied promptly that they were getting more in eventually. You can find it pictured on their website.
Admin Vista Posted April 15, 2014 Admin Report Posted April 15, 2014 Well bodger me, so it is! http://www.motorsport-tools.com/new-ford-escort-mk2-roof-gutter-trim-black-replacement.html Be sure and mention us if you buy it from them as it helps us to help them if you see what I mean.
pnwrs2000 Posted April 16, 2014 Author Report Posted April 16, 2014 Cheers chaps ! I've since found out that east kent trim supplies do the stuff too but will probably try Motorsport Tools me thinks. Cheers Darren
Admin Vista Posted April 16, 2014 Admin Report Posted April 16, 2014 Having purchased from EK before my preferred option would be Motorsport Tools
pnwrs2000 Posted April 16, 2014 Author Report Posted April 16, 2014 How so Vista ? I just assumed that MT sold EK's gear ???
skeeter Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 Why not rub down the chrome, etch prime it and then paint it black yourself? S
pnwrs2000 Posted April 16, 2014 Author Report Posted April 16, 2014 Just cos new black trims cost buttons and are a doddle to fit
Admin Vista Posted April 16, 2014 Admin Report Posted April 16, 2014 How so Vista ? I just assumed that MT sold EK's gear ??? Maybe they do? But based on my own experience, which admittedly was some years ago, and the feedback I've read from others more recently, I would choose where to spend my money wisely. 1
mikehunt Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 never had a problem with east kent stuff been buying off them for years
Danish Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 I wouldn't use East Kent again after my last experience. Their products are good quality, their customer service sucks.

Danish Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 its the product that fits to the car lol Only if they arrive...
mk2 mike Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 General opinion is steer well clear of East Kent trim and go ANYWHERE else.
mk2 matt Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 if you get it from east kent make sure you get some grip fill on it or it will fall off as said before its not very good
