Hello,!

Just joined the site today after seeing loads of posts on Twitter but not being able to access them as i was not a member, so now i can.

I suppose i am suffering a mid life crisis as my wife puts it, a couple of weeks ago i became the owner of a very nice low mileage Mk 2 RS2000 in Riviera Blue, which after looking for the right car for nearly a year turned up about one mile away from where we live, it was never advertised for sale as the chap who owned it actually approached me after hearing i was looking for one, unbelievable but true.

The car is totally standard in every way with not a single mod at all, and is very clean and tidy, and i am amazed at the attention it gets where ever it goes, and is a great conversation piece.

Looking forward to attending the many shows this year and to meeting likeminded people.

Mike

Can't wait to see the pics I to have a riviera blue RS the best colour if you ask me ( ducks lol)

Lovely colour to be fair, not many around now and I think they only made 250 .

I've bought some gold minilites to go on the car whilst I get the original wheels refurbished, they look great

, but still prefer the original wheels.

Looking forward to going to Classic Ford next weekend,

Its a funny thing - I got my Riviera blue RS2000 2 years ago now and thought it was a strange colour as I can't remember ever seeing one that colour 'back in the day' or in the RS Sales brochure that was my day time reading until I bought a 3 yr old in Black. Mine looked good and I never dug that deeply but the more I do, it is revealing its interesting 'history'! Martin told me it was a rare colour but didn't realise it was only 250 units............and it is actually growing on me probably because its such a 'retro' colour - pastel type colours just aren't seen these days. Just got to finish the Zetec install, complete the wiring then screw it all back together.........so 12 months then!

I really do like Riviera Blue on an Escort, I believe Porsche use the colour as well on some cars, I was looking for a Yellow one or an Blue one so was very pleased when I was offered this one.
