jamie956 Posted August 5, 2014 Report Posted August 5, 2014 What brakes and set ups are you using on your high powered OSF's and how do you rate them, I'm currently using 2wd cosworth brakes front and rear no servo as turbo engine. Started to push the car a little bit as still running it in and the brakes don't quite match performance, now I have a OBP peddle box which hands up was a big mistake its a total load of crap had loads of problems with the getting the clutch to work down to master cylinder travel. So im not really sure where the problem lays lack of servo or shit peddle box, the same calliper and disc combo in a cosworth works much better but obviously powered with the electronic servo.
quickrack Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 I bought a Group Four Fabrications peddle box and Wilwood midilites. In the dry on hot tyres and hot tar she can lock the front when I want

I think the route of all my problems is the OBP peddle box, had loads of problems with the hyd clutch as well. Going to have to make it a winter job to change it out for something else. 1

quickrack Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Mine are .625 REAR and .750 FRONT Surely the bigger cylinder should operate the main braking area eg the front?? 1
warrenk Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 I'm running a standard Cortina master cylinder with BMW 4pots and vented discs, everything still fits in behind the 13" wheels. No servo, braided lines and the brakes are sharp, think I was just lucky to get the pedal ratio and the piston sizes right. Was good enough to stop my Mk1 when the previous owner had a 2.4 N/A YB in it, put the whole setup over into my crossflow powered Mk2
warrenk Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Found a pic of the brakes in one of my other posts on the forum.. 1

mk2xflow Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 yeh im running 0.75 master cylinder ,wildwood 4 pots at front braided lines and 2litre capri 9 inch rear brakes on a mk2 escort with no servo
