Tom E Cropp Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 One for F1 fans, Torro Rosso have announced that verstappen will be driving for the team next year, at 17 he will be the youngest ever F1 driver!
deltamal Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Boy racer! he must have a lot of talent to be trusted with a million pound or so car.....
Admin Vista Posted August 19, 2014 Admin Report Posted August 19, 2014 Some of the news articles I have read have him as being 16? Personally I think that's too young. I mean, 200+mph round the circuit one minute and then what? His mum has to give him a lift home? And then there's the issue of whether someone that young is sufficiently physically developed to compete competitively at that level, if he's in there too early and can't compete, that may blow his chance of staying in the game long enough to become competitive.
mk2 mike Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 I think he's 16 now but will be 17 by his first race. I've been following the junior Ginetta cup for years and there's some cracking 16 year old drivers. Be interesting to see how he gets on!
john_3.0s Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 I reckon good on the lad, it wasn't that long ago that 15 yr olds went to war. It's only driving a car round in circles. 1
Tom E Cropp Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 He's 16 now and will be 17 when he drives in F1 ! He's Definatley a natural talent that's for sure! And I'm sure he will do a good job! However I don't get why red bull gave max the seat when they have other red bull junior drivers leading championships in higher single seater categories
SmokeEm Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 Maybe he comes with a major sponsorship deal Tom? Its all about money at the end of the day
