aardvark101 Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 Whatever you do, make sure that you do not fix carpet gripper to any walls or gates that they may climb over, and especially dont put small bits of it under garage doors or handles where their fingers might get trapped on the rear facing razor sharp spikes (especially if Dave may have done on it ) K 3
Tackleberry Posted September 27, 2014 Author Report Posted September 27, 2014 Update.. It appears they've either given up, (now it's like Fort Knox), or are biding their time. It's a bit worrying that a recently stolen recovery truck from not a million miles away has had a go at nicking some other older motors...coincidence? Anyway, Dave is back to his creature comforts, I'm getting sleep again and the missus is happy that I've stopped marching up and down the drive with the baseball bat all hours of the day...for now.
GJUK Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Mate, all I would do is insure your car correctly, with an agreed valuation and go to bed. If they REALLY want it, they will take it when you're not there etc. Insure your car for £15k (even if its worth £5k) and rest easy. It's not nice though what you've depicted. All the best, J
Tackleberry Posted October 2, 2014 Author Report Posted October 2, 2014 It seems as though someone's had a go at my garage. The top has been forced and the wires which take the weight when it opens have been cut...guess Dave will be moved back inside the garage... They've come in on the blind side as the CCTV camera didn't catch them, all in daytime to...Unfortunately, the neighbours were out, which is why they've had a go...f@#kers.!!
HotRodMatt Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 That's bad news dude, have thevpolice been round to get fingerprints? Or are they still not interested?
Tackleberry Posted October 2, 2014 Author Report Posted October 2, 2014 Had a look, but no smooth surfaces to get anything...I'm thinking of moving the car to a mates yard as he has onsite security 24/7... I'll leave my garage slightly insecure then hopefully they'll see it's empty and f@#k off...hopefully before I catch em, cos it'll end in tears for em. 1
HotRodMatt Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 Could be the best solution mate. Shame it has to come to this though.
Tackleberry Posted October 2, 2014 Author Report Posted October 2, 2014 It's that, or I take a week off work and camp in the hedge opposite and wait for the f@#kers..

Tackleberry Posted October 5, 2014 Author Report Posted October 5, 2014 yep real nasty but then these scum are everywhere That's why Joe public is standing up to em more often..people have had enough of the courts letting em off lightly...
mk2xflow Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 yes when they catch them they should string them up by the balls with piano wire and swing them about a bit lol
mk2 mike Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 yeh a guy in Glasgow left his dog in the car as a deterent , didn't work as they simply set fire to the car and burned both the car and dog ,youl never win over the thief as the law states theve rights as well ,Britain sucks at poor laws and poor enforcement Absolute scum. They're so far below scum there's not even a word for people like that. Anyone even think of doing that to my dogs they'd be strung up from the nearest lamp post.... Slowly.
irishtorag Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 the new law ((sort of ))in Ireland where u can shoot the fooker in the face when they break in should be used everywhere if they run away call them to turn round just to make sure they get bullet in the front. joking aside its a horrible world now where the thieves have more rights than the owners, druggies are protected.robbers same ,probably rapists etc and if a soldier goes awol he is fooked
jas Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 Take the wheels of the mondeo and drop it down low as well.
Tackleberry Posted October 8, 2014 Author Report Posted October 8, 2014 Since thier last attempt its all gone quiet...so fingers crossed they've given up. I hope so anyway, as Dave is a bit pissed off residing in the garage and now it's getting chilly, he wants his creature comforts...aka, my settee!!
stuartp Posted October 8, 2014 Report Posted October 8, 2014 I know this feeling well - it's taken me a good few months to start sleeping properly again after mine got nicked. I'm still up at the window at every single noise I hear (and yes, baseball bat is ready for action if required) sounds like you have done the best you can to protect yours, hopefully by getting lucky and spotting them they will move onto easier pickings (also not good but always better someone elses car than your own) 1
