Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 25, 2014 Admin Report Posted September 25, 2014 Neil ... that's excellent ... I thought you were busy?
classicwhitey Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 woohoo capri on capri should make a good final
SmokeEm Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 Pardon me guys for not knowing. What times are you guys with capri's running? IIRC, our best ever street legal run was 15.1. That was at full weight other than a glass bonnet on a 2.0 engine we built in a shed. It would be great to compare results. With slicks and a welded diff we ran 14.0
classicwhitey Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 im well happy as quickest so far for me is 15.07 with a full weight car, full interior etc. road tyres on rear, skinny fronts off an anglia. normal open diff with a 2.1 pinto. hoping to fit a lsd this winter 2
SmokeEm Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 ^^^ you gotta be well chuffed with that! After we built a new engine to chase the 14.0, the car became almost undrivable on the street due to having such a lairy cam
Kieran Posted September 26, 2014 Author Report Posted September 26, 2014 ^^^ you gotta be well chuffed with that! After we built a new engine to chase the 14.0, the car became almost undrivable on the street due to having such a lairy cam dare i remind you of this! When's Gary pulling his finger out and making a return then?
SmokeEm Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 Ouchie! The new V8 is in place and rebuilt. All it needs is a new ignition system. Gary actually joins the Met on Monday as a fully fledged Police Orificer so will be earning a bit more lolly so hopefully ready for next yr 3
classicwhitey Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 yea im chuffed to bits with the time as i went in to this just wanting to get a 15 and done it on the first run at classic ford!! it should dip into the 14's with a LSD, its still perfectly drivable on the road too. do you know what happened to the capri in the video, only it just looks like steam from a hose letting go? 2
SmokeEm Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 ^^ That was us. 1 x Piston and 1 x Rod decided That its home inside the block wasn't light and airey enough so made a bid for freedom. My nephew was driving and simply over revved it to 7.8k
classicwhitey Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 ouch well i look forward to seeing it with a v8 in. my limiter is set at about 8K but i do have accralites & H beam rods. i have a supercharger that i may play with in the future from a merc but thats a long way off 1
