Tackleberry Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Morning all... I currently have a 2.0ltr Sport Capri which I love dearly, only having her for a few months. I've had my fair share of OSF in my yoof and love Capri's and Cortina's equally. Now, I've got the chance to swap my Capri for a Cortina in immaculate condition. I've spent most evenings and quite a few pennies bringing the Capri up to a decent condition as an ongoing project. I can't afford both, otherwise I'd just buy it with no dilema. So, do I swap or stick..? Personally, I think the Capri holds more cudos...thoughts?
Admin Vista Posted October 12, 2014 Admin Report Posted October 12, 2014 I like both cars but think I'd stick with the one that I'd put all the effort into as that would be the one I felt more of a bond with
mk2 matt Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 if its a mk1 or 2 its a no brainer, rip his arm off
Admin Vista Posted October 12, 2014 Admin Report Posted October 12, 2014 if its a mk1 or 2 its a no brainer, rip his arm off Also a good point, for some reason I assumed you were talking about a mk5
Tackleberry Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 Also a good point, for some reason I assumed you were talking about a mk5 You're right, it is a mk5... Sitting here thinking about it, having put the hours into my Capri plus with other plans in mind (with the help of Ashtons Mobile and thier toys)....it's a real should or shouldn't I moment.
Admin Vista Posted October 12, 2014 Admin Report Posted October 12, 2014 Then I vote to keep the capri
Tackleberry Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 Yep...choice made. Although both are OSF, the mind says Tina, but the heart says Capri... (although for info, it's an unmolested 1.6GL in red, immaculate condition).
classicwhitey Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 having done i full strip down and rebuild of my capri i can safely say i know every nut and bolt on it and know what effort went in to getting it to the standard its in now. 3 years of working outside in my spare time in any weather. i had some big lows where i wished id never started but now its done id never want to sell it
Tackleberry Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 I think the overheating issue is playing on my mind....I've changed the whole coolant system (just waiting for the silicone hoses) in the hope it resolves it..and saw the swap as a way of dodging it. But I've spent too much money on her to give up this easily... Cars....who'd have em?!!!
Benjy✌ Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Mk1,2 or 3 Tina no brainier, but for a 4 or 5 I'd keep hold of the capri! Each to there own tho!
Tackleberry Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 After much ummimg and arring, I'm sticking with the Capri... Put the 2 up against each other and there's only one choice really... So onwards and upwards, ready for next years meets.. 2
