escortmad79 Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 Yellow Flat front Mk2 RS2000 BMA711S was stolen from Chirnside in the Scottish Borders sometime this morning 8/12/14. The car is set up & used for road & navigational rallying. It's fitted with a full roll cage, bucket seats with Sabelt harnesses & has a trip meter fitted. The corner of the driver’s seat has some light damage & has been blown in using a rattle can. The car had a 2.0 Pinto fitted, rear end was standard. Suspension wise it was possibly fitted with a set of Gaz gold adjustable legs (Info has come from a friend of the owner). The car also has a strut brace, one of the type welded to the inner wings as opposed to the bolt on type. The car has a towing eye on the front spoiler so will have extra holes on the passenger side. It also has spotlight brackets. One thing that will make the car stand out is the fact it has 2 fuel tanks in the back, either side so has mounting points on both sides to accommodate. The tunnel has also been cut where a hydraulic handbrake was fitted previously and a plate was bolted over the top rather than welded up. The thieves broke into the owners garage & moved 3 cars to get the Escort out! The was possibly a sighting of this vehicle heading south on the M74 around Beattock- Lockerbie around midday this afternoon (Monday 8th December 2014) Any info or any sightings of this car please call 01890818425 Archie Simmonds

Wings, doors, bonnet, bootlid, cage, seats, belts, dash, engine, gearbox, front suspension and cross member all gone. If anyone has innocently bought any items like these recently and believe they may have been from the car please get in touch so information can be passed to the authorities. It's insult to injury that the car was recovered in this state after it had been stolen.
