questions on wheels sizes

people  just got back into the scene after 5 years and having a big nightmare with the old  wheel thing. I brought a set of rs4 spoke jbw from midland to replace the Rostyles on my 1600e  but didnt like them.  Even with spacers  and with ofset of 16 the style just wasnt spot on and they did not look good as per profile pic  so there going on ebay.  Today took a chance and brought a set of minilight 7j 13 with et0 offset .   Any ideas on tyres to use . Was going to put the 185 60 yokos back but it would seam all the new boys are using 175 50s ??????. Hope these fit ??? . Any feedback more than welcome  cheers

Not a fan of 13's on a Cortina ive used 15's on the last couple ive done, I think the bigger 185 60 tyre will fill the arches better.

Not sure if I've seen a mk2 cortina on RS 4 spokes before. Mini lights should look good but I'd stick with your 185/60 tyres. Did you check that ET0 7J rims would clear your arches before ordering them?

 

175/50 tyres will alter your final drive gearing ratio (changing the speed you can achieve in each gear but making your pick up quicker), affect your speedo reading substantially and unless your car is very substantially lowered, leave large gaps to the wheel arches.
