mk_one_estate Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 hi everyone i'm getting my engine (1600 X-flow 711) tuned tomorrow & the guy doing it has asked me to find out what the ignition timing should be could someone kindly help me out & tell me what it should be ? i really want to get my estate to Classic Ford show!!!!!! would be much appreciated cheers Marcus

Chris standage Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 I was gonna say that too, if he's asking you what it needs to be I wouldn't want him tuning it, any reputable tuner should know what there doing.
mk_one_estate Posted May 28, 2015 Author Report Posted May 28, 2015 thanks for all the replies, it was a friend doing it who doesn't usually work on fords but he knows what he's doing anyway its all done now & is running better than ever! however i will be getting it set up by someone else at some point after the weekend but i'm happy for now thanks again guys Marcus 2
peterbatchelor69 Posted June 4, 2015 Report Posted June 4, 2015 Hi for best preformance the ignition timing shoud be 10 degrees btc points at 25 imp dont worrie about vacuum pipe leave it connected! Best way is take car for a run and adjust timing by ear
