mk2 mike Posted July 8, 2015 Author Report Posted July 8, 2015 St Electric orange was my first choice. But I'm looking at £5k plus for thst as opposed to £3k for a solid colour. Just can't justify the extra expense! When I were a lad most mk2s (including mine) were primer grey. I still like primer but don't think it would cut it on the OSF stand at shows!
colr6 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 You only paint once so put in the colour you want sod the expense!!!!
PeteRS8084 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 That'll be a long drive, the one in the pic belongs to a guy called Tyler who live in New Zealand wouldn't surprise me if someone's copied the car though Not the pic you posted up, the one of the mk1 sport.............I know people travel to ford meets but I doubt that anyone would travel from new Zealand, now watch me get egg on my face 1
colr6 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 I travelled from hull ands it's like the end of the earth will that do Pete (got eggs ready)
PeteRS8084 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 M mm mm mm mm. ................let me think about that, Hull or auk land, what's further. Nope no eggs yet. Any way there was a guy on the flux stand who had travelled from Darlington in his s2 turbo, guess that's further than hull too
colr6 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 But Darlington you can get to somewhere else get to hull THATS IT THE END unless you like swimming in mud lol
PeteRS8084 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 Yeah I know, I have been there several times. I did all my driving courses at Leconfield, nr Beverly, when I had a proper job in the army! So it is possibly the end of the world, but I think that title belongs to the Falklands lol.
2512pf Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 the only good thing that came out of hull was paul heaton 1
ianb10 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 Looks like Signal Orange to me, my mate had a Capri in this colour, its a lot deeper than Vista Orange. 1
colr6 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 Must be me, seem to get plagued with everything first cyclists then caravanners now hgv learners from Leconfield. Must have done something seriously wrong in a previous life! LOL
PeteRS8084 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 Everyone had to learn, even you, they are not plaguing you lol 1
colr6 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 Must be one of the biggest training schools around? What with cars rigids and sort of artics
PeteRS8084 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 It's huge, did all my hgv there, old skool, hgv3 then hgv2 then HGV1, and yes in artics. Plus a load of other course, ending with a full driving examiner all classes and motorcycle examiner. ..........oh happy days!
DT36 Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 Be a rebel and vinyl Wrap it in Dyno Rod orange... 2
mk2 mike Posted July 9, 2015 Author Report Posted July 9, 2015 I did consider a wrap but I'm having the inside stripped out so it'll mean wrapping the interior, floors, cage roof etc. think it'll be easier to paint! 1
In The Pit Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 If you do choose Signal Orange then bare in mind there are three different ones used on the MKII (in the UK). Signal Orange 76, 77 and 79. I think most people go with Signal Orange 79 as that is a bright orangey orange.
SmokeEm Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 Followed a brand new Mini today Mike, it was quite a nice Orange. Being a new colour, it might not be too ££££?
mk2 mike Posted July 9, 2015 Author Report Posted July 9, 2015 I've seen that Dave. I do like that colour. 1
khanlad Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 That looks quite nice and im not a fan of the new mini
DT36 Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Just come back from the shop and saw this in the car park, Mike. Dyno Rod Orange Corvette. When I pulled up and first saw it, I was all "WTF?" This was one loud orange.
mk2 mike Posted July 17, 2015 Author Report Posted July 17, 2015 That is nice! Didn't realise you were in that part of the world! As a little update I've settled on Porsche pure orange, as in the Gt3 RS. 2
SmokeEm Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 I have a Citroen dealer near me and this years model DS3 has a lovely orange option
