Daggle Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 I went up to the lock up today with the rest of the boys and thought to myself that it was about time that I shared with all of you some of the motors that us lot have under wraps and will 'hopefully' be getting on the road soon. First of is my brothers 2 door 1966 'tina 1500GT, this was rescued by me and him on a trip up to the norfolk area, this was around 4 years ago now, the car was in a rotten state, having sat in the front garden for a number of years. In fact when we turned up, i tried to talk him out of buying it as I thought it was a rot box, 4 years down the line and its at this stage, all the paint has been done, the engine, box, prop have been restored, its just down to the fiddly bits, but I love this car and will let the piccies speak for themselves.... Now get it sorted Wayne and enjoy it!!! Also in the group is Simon's 'tina, don't know too much about it so again a picture is worth a thousand words, the reason the wheels are off, is just down to sorting out the suspension, near completion this one... Last but not least, it's been posted before but this is Jeff's freshly painted prefect..... There are a few other cars in our group, but these are just the ones that are 'Work in Progress'

prefectopop Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Just thought I'd post up a couple of pics of the other cars in the MMR team - hope you don't mind Darren First is Simon's 1953 Mk1 Consul - one owner from new, been in storage since 1968 and about to get some well deserved TLC in the workshop - plan is a fresh coat of paint (only 2 tiny bits of welding to do) and get the engine serviced up - should be cruising about for the summer! Secondly is my little Prefect - bought from a guy by accident last October needing a new clutch and a bit of welding and paint. A month later and it was on the road. Now the plan is a good service and then cruise it about for the summer Then there's the honorary MMR members - my Mum and Step-Dad - who without his help Wayne's (maroon Cortina GT) gearbox and prop wold not have been fitted this evening - big thanks! John my step dad has a 1956 Mk2 Highline Zephyr pictured below and my mum Jackie has a Mk2 Consul. the Zephyr has a Buick V6 in it at present but the plan is to fit a Rover V8 to it. The consul is having a 2 litre Pinto fitted at present then will get over the workshop - will add a photo when I have one but its a fresh purchase! Darren how about a photo of yours to add to the collection - all the Mad Moomins in one place then!
