Scortedvan Posted May 5, 2016 Report Posted May 5, 2016 Hi all, after some advice and opinions! I was thinking about changing the wheels and tyres on my mk1 and love the look of the deep dish minilites! I stumbled across the White one below in eBay that I think sits brilliantly, would anyone know from looking what wheel and tyre sizes it's running? And it looks like it has plenty of clearance, are they normally problematic to run? Also what would other people's opinions be - change them or leave them, they are brand new after all! Thanks everyone
mk2 mike Posted May 6, 2016 Report Posted May 6, 2016 Hard to tell from the pic but I'd take a stab in the dark and guess they're 13x7" (et-7) wheels with 175/50/13 tyres. I stand to be corrected though. It's a common combo (I'm running the same on my mk2 albeit revolites not minilites). Mine fitted fine although I did end up rolling the rear arches when I had the car painted just for the sake of it. Most people run them without issue but I've heard of a few rubbing. In fact mine rubbed slightly on the driver's side when I was two up with a full tank and stuff in the boot but only on severe bumps. It really does depend on the car, if it's had arches replaced in the past etc. Oh, and I'd change them if it were mine. You should be able to shift your current new alloys easy enough. I love a dish as you can see in my pic Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
meXEco Posted May 6, 2016 Report Posted May 6, 2016 Try and find them in the correct ET+6 or ET+7 rather than ET-7 and they'll fit better.
