Powderham Historic Vehicle Gathering Day 1

A great first day on the Exe estuary in the grounds of the Historic Powderham Castle.

 

The organisers have had a record turn out this year with cars, trucks, buses, military vehicles, buses, coaches and traction engines as far as the eye could see. And, as a few baggy heads stood testament to this morning, entertainment till late with are and cider bring skilled to the small hours.

 

On our stand Deltamal and Danish provided a welcome Cortina addition to the otherwise all Escort presence. We also had a rare beast turn out in the form of a Daytona yellow RS1600.

 

Of note in the private exhibitors area there was a lovely mk1 Escort Twin Cam, a Lotus Cortina mk2, a 100e with a Rover V8 and a mk3 Cortina Savage. Also a very nice RHD conversion of a Fastback Mustang and lots of very nice non Fords.

Definitely, two days wasn't enough. We're thinking to camp for the weekend next year.
