colr6 Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Cash waiting for a nice car, based in Essex but happy to travel. Cheers Lee Thought you'd got sorted, or are you trying to corner the market on Anglias
Englishbulls Posted August 11, 2016 Author Report Posted August 11, 2016 Yeah I know, it was all sorted then the guy decided to keep it after deposit paid and transport arranged. Funny thing is that when I have sold my cars in the past, they were all mint and I had no end of time wasters before selling them. I'm trying to buy one and pay a good price and I just can't seem to find one where I view, pay and take it away. So back to the drawing board, I have the cash so hopefully someone out there will get in touch. I'm looking at one in Cornwall next week but it's heavily modified so not sure. Cheers Lee
colr6 Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Gutted for you mate, that looked a brill shell for a cracking car sorry van
Englishbulls Posted August 11, 2016 Author Report Posted August 11, 2016 Cheers. Something will turn up, there must be someone out there with a good car wanting a straightforward sale???
Englishbulls Posted August 11, 2016 Author Report Posted August 11, 2016 It was put on eBay in the end but been up for sale for a while now. It need repainting as its bright green and I am not sure about a Toyota engine but I had a blue van I did the body similar about 15-years ago and never seen it since, I put a 2 litre pinto in. I'll dig out some photos of it. Cheers
meXEco Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 Oh that one lol was up for £10,500 I think. You'd need to spend another 5k to put it right -keep looking I say. Theres a pretty nice standard 309E opposite my house but he's not interested in selling I've already asked him. Did you ever see the tv show 'Shed and Buried' with Henry Cole, the owner of said van was on the first show with a house and garage full of stuff including a giant guard rabbit! Cant remember if the van was shown could try youtube.
Englishbulls Posted August 12, 2016 Author Report Posted August 12, 2016 Yeah I know, something will turn up, I might end up doing another Cortina if I can find a good base car.
colr6 Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 Depending how urgent you want one, you could have a word with Transplanter. He and his mate import cars from America could see if anything is availiable. That's where my Tina came from and it saves chasing rust worm.
Englishbulls Posted August 12, 2016 Author Report Posted August 12, 2016 I have looked at the left hookers but how do you convert to RHD?
colr6 Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 I have looked at the left hookers but how do you convert to RHD? Depending if you get pre airflow or not, airflow ones easy. Early ones with strip speedo require full dash airflow can be swapped and stitched. Then it's just the usual s/ box , wiring and few small bits and pieces
Englishbulls Posted August 14, 2016 Author Report Posted August 14, 2016 Found one with zetec and 5-speed box, it is being collected next week. Needs a new hand brake cable but not sure what one is fitted so I need help working this out? Cheers Lee 2
colr6 Posted August 14, 2016 Report Posted August 14, 2016 Looks nice and tidy, all the work done for you. Is it up to scratch or is there anything that needs really sorting apart from h/ brake
Englishbulls Posted August 14, 2016 Author Report Posted August 14, 2016 I think the gearbox needs a rebuild and a new diff plus I want to put discs on rear and maybe the paint tidied up in a few places but nothing major...
paul1957 Posted August 14, 2016 Report Posted August 14, 2016 thats lucky it didnt take long to find that one it looks a good car
Englishbulls Posted August 14, 2016 Author Report Posted August 14, 2016 Yeah, well happy and it will look good next to my Mk1 Tina.
