colr6 Posted September 19, 2016 Report Posted September 19, 2016 both very nice! need a rear bumper on the cortina though. I do like to see hub caps on those wheels, to me its in keeping withe the general look of the car of which I think is great anyway. Tbh who would think a pale green and white roof could look so cool and stand the test of time.

Tbh who would think a pale green and white roof could look so cool and stand the test of time. yes hub caps too. old cars are timeless shapes and will always look good. funny thing is they call it south london. but most most of the cars came from the factory like that. i dont call it south london look. its just how an old ford should look! i think the south london style is to buy a chaved up old ford, rip all the crap off it, slam it and make it faster. nothing against south london, but it is just how an old ford should look.
Englishbulls Posted September 19, 2016 Author Report Posted September 19, 2016 both very nice! need a rear bumper on the cortina though. This is an old video, my son is adding clips together and uploading for me. The Tina now has a new bumper fitted. Struggling for space with the cars as my sister is moving and I'm losing her garage. I have a garage, I'm renting one, I'm using my mum and sisters garages, 4 classics fords and one may have to go as I don't want to keep one under a cover on the drive. I was tempted to sell the Tina and had a great offer with a part ex Anglia that my mate would have but it's faster and better to drive than my lotus so not sure what to do? Cheers

I've taken all the hub caps off as I think they look better, I may put alloys on the van, I have a couple more sets of lotus steels that I bought for the lotus cortina in the garage that will go on EBay when I dig them out. Cheers

Cheers if i had some spare cash id love the cortina but i do have a mk2 escort in bits that ive had since 1998 and needs finishing!
Englishbulls Posted September 19, 2016 Author Report Posted September 19, 2016 Good luck with Escort I know how hard it is getting a car finished. My green mk1 Tina drives nicer and faster than my lotus cortina, you could use it everyday. Thanks

Thanks thanks, and yeah its all money and time! and yeah i know what you mean, i'm wanting 190hp from my pinto so saving up for a harris head to go with my twin 48's
Englishbulls Posted September 19, 2016 Author Report Posted September 19, 2016 My pinto on the dyno came out at 157bhp and that's on 40's, mine ticks over lovely, every time I have gone too high on the bhp with a pinto they run lumpy in traffic which I don't like I guess that's why the Anglia with that engine and carbs I'm easily over 200 bhp. I would like to do a Retro ford or classic ford dyno day in the van although I may be putting throttle bodies on it, not sure yet... Cheers Lee
RWL81P Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 thats a good figure on 40's. im not botherd about it running lumpy, got a 4 paddle clutch and i want a strait cut box too. its all about the sound and feel for me. got a norman modern car for comfy. i wanna hear it bark 10 streets away! lol
colr6 Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Once you put a straight cut box and a paddle clutch in don't worry the novelty will soon wear off and end up like mine on the floor of the garage
RWL81P Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Once you put a straight cut box and a paddle clutch in don't worry the novelty will soon wear off and end up like mine on the floor of the garage maybe right. but i built a renault extra van a number of years back, it was stripped out with no carpets, i even scrapped the sound deadening up, had a 2.0 williams engine in it with piper cams and a ap paddle clutch. i ran that everyday for work for about 5yrs. made the journey to work exciting racing imprezas.
colr6 Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 The number of things I did years back and at the time thought they were great, you replicate them now and think HOW the f--k did I put up with that !
RWL81P Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 yeah i know what you mean. i do have a standard pinto and box though for when i wana make it more driveable, i dont own pipe and slippers yet though. lol
colr6 Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 I must have the pipe and slippers then, the straight cut quaife is on the floor I'm thinking I of taking my twin plate paddle clutch out and the LSD is coming out for a more less aggressive one. Getting old me thinks

Getting old me thinks keep it all for a cheap track toy, you know you will miss it!
colr6 Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 keep it all for a cheap track toy, you know you will miss it! That's what the Anglia has been demoted to now, once the Tina is built. Normal clutch, normal suspension turbo so no roaring 45s and recaros instead of buckets.....boring I know but that's life...LOL

colr6 Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 turbo? Yes the nice silent whoosh of power on a cossy. Not to old, not yet anyway
RWL81P Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Yes the nice silent whoosh of power on a cossy. Not to old, not yet anyway hope your not having a noisey dump valve? theyre for the younguns, like paddle clutches and strait cut boxes. haha
colr6 Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 hope your not having a noisey dump valve? theyre for the younguns, like paddle clutches and strait cut boxes. haha Deffo not!! The only way you'll know is the large exhaust out the back, apart from that you would think it's a normal mk1 GT
RWL81P Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Deffo not!! The only way you'll know is the large exhaust out the back, apart from that you would think it's a normal mk1 GT thats good then! that bloody noise ruins an old ford for me. my mate bought a knackerd 400hp mk1 escort a few years back. turns out the 400hp was more like 40. couldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding. we ripped it out and stuck a pinto on 45's in it. but it was that bloody dump valve that bugged the shit out of me!
